Parpalló cave

Although located in the municipality of Gandia it is close to Barx. The cavity has a manhole with a height of 10m, clicking on a small circular atrium or 4m diameter. To the left a west gallery, which follows a narrow gallery opens.
In the first excavations remains of flint, animal bones and human bones were collected. Subsequent excavations, supervised by Luis Pericot, offered few results so revolutionary that changed the vision that had on the Spanish Paleolithic; why the Parpalló gained a worldwide reputation. Its importance is that in this cave are represented the three stages of the Upper Paleolithic and even there prehistorians arriving parpallonense even talk of art, with its own identity.
The abundant findings in this field are preserved in the Museum of Prehistory of Gandia and Valencia.
