 She is the patron saint of Barx, she is very loved by the barxeros, so much so that during the civil war the image was protected from destruction by the neighbors themselves, who hid it in a house until the end of the conflict, her image can be seen in the church of Barx.
The image of the divine shepherdess, was created at the end of the 18th century and beginning of the 19th century, it is characterized by being seated and carrying the baby Jesus on her lap, both wearing the shepherd's outfit with the hat, in one of the hands she holds a staff pastoral, around him two sheep are observed, one of them is receiving the child's attention.
Since the year 2000, there has been a brotherhood dedicated to the Divina Pastora in Barx, which is in charge of organizing the festivities in honor of the patron saint.


In honor of the Divine Shepherdess a floral offering and a procession are made, this event was born in the year 1898 in which the Cubans' festival is held, in which the Divine Shepherdess is thanked for the return of the barxeros alive during the colonial wars in Cuba and the Philippines, at the end of the procession San Miquel and Divina Pastora meet surrounded by the people of the town who, with starting rockets lacking final explosive, ignite said devices in honor of the souls of their deceased, covering them with The sparks.
Festivities. The patron saint festivities are held in the third week of August in honor of the patron saints of the town, La Divina Pastora and San Miguel Arcángel.
